Jeera Rice with Cooked Rice
Ingredients
• 1 tbsp ghee / clarified butter
• 1 tsp cumin seeds / jeera
• 3 cardamom / elachi
• 7 cloves / lavang
• 1 bay leaf / tej patta
• 1 inch cinnamon stick / dalchini
• ½ medium sized onion, thinly sliced
• 2 cups cooked rice, basmati
• salt to taste

Instructions(1 cup =255 ml)
1. firstly, in a large kadai heat a tablespoon of ghee. you can also use oil.
2. further, add cumin seeds and allow to splutter.
3. also saute cardamom, cloves, bay leaf and cinnamon stick. saute on low flame till they turn aromatic.
4. further, add thinly sliced onion and saute well.
5. later add 2 cups of cooked rice / leftover rice. for best results, add a tsp of oil while cooking basmati rice to avoid rice grains from sticking to each other.
6. furthermore add salt to taste and mix gently.
7. mix gently making sure the rice grains doesn’t break.
8. simmer for 3 minutes till the rice grains turn hot.
9. finally, jeera rice is ready to serve with curries or dal.
